CBS International Participates in the RSA Conference 2014 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center

The conference kicked off  at the San Francisco’s Moscone Center. from February 24 to February 28 2014.  RSA Conference 2014 brings together the top information security professionals and business leaders to discuss emerging cybersecurity trends and formulate best strategies for tackling current and future threats. Among the speakers of the conference included Nawaf Bitar, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Security Business Unit, Juniper Networks, Inc. , Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President, Trustworthy Computing, Microsoft Corporation,  Stephen Colbert, Award-winning host and executive producer of “The Colbert Report” and New York Times best-selling author  – among other speakers. The Conference addressed matters on security especially in the wake of increasing concern over online safety lapses. While addressing the conference, Nawaf Bitar, senior vice president of Juniper Networks’ security unit said

“Our industry is under attack from all manner of foes: criminal organizations, corporate thieves, hostile governments, friendly governments,”  He added that  “Haven’t we reached our breaking point? When will we say, ‘Enough is enough?’ Our information is being stolen.”It’s time for a new type of defense,” he said. “A type of defense that interferes with the attackers. A type of defense that breaks algorithms. A type of defense that disrupts data collection. It’s time for us to turn the tables on the attackers.”

RSA Executive Chairman Arthur Coviello argued that governments across the world need to agree on a common set of ground rules for data security that respects individual privacy and intellectual property rights and renounce cyberwarfare.
