Francisco:People to People Ambassador Programs, has selected Ms. Sophia Bekele, CISA, as a member of the Information Technology Auditors Delegation to the Peoples Republic of China. The selection of representatives is based on the individuals’ knowledge background and expertise in the field of information technology auditing, IT governance, control and assurance, development, provisions and promotions of audit standards. People To People International was founded in 1956 by President Eisenhower to improve communication between Americans and the citizens of other countries. President Eisenhower initially assigned the program’s management and operations to the U.S. State Department. Later the organization was restructured as a nonpolitical, private sector activity serving as a catalyst for citizen exchanges. Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton have supported its goals by serving as Honorary Chairman. –People to People Ambassador, Nov 2002
